Russell’s is not just a name but a standard and we are proud of the products we manufacture and supply to our many customers. We have furnishing consultants who cover the top of the South Island from the Karamea to Haast, Motueka & Golden Bay, Richmond & Nelson, Picton, Blenheim, Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs, Christchurch, North Canterbury, Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury as far south as Timaru and the surrounding rural areas. At your request, they will visit your home bringing with them a mobile showroom which includes literally hundreds of samples and a wealth of experience and advice to help you make the right decisions in the treatment of your window furnishings.

We realize only to well how important the investment you make is when you decide to furnish your windows. We believe that we can provide the best choices and options, workmanship and attention to detail to ensure that the finished product is the best it can be.

The consulting process

One of the aspects of the consultant’s job is to establish what you, the client, requires and how those requirements fit within your furnishing budget. We aim to achieve a result that will give you the greatest satisfaction immediately and in the years to come. Each of the experienced consultants from Russells is well qualified to help you come to the right decision on the type of window covering to suit your situation.

To meet Russell’s high standards, all our consultants are trained to provide the ultimate amount of fullness to your drapes, to use the best types of tracks and rods and to make suggestions on alternative types of window treatments. These suggestions and components are not always the cheapest available and there is always room to make adjustments or suggest alternatives without compromising the quality of the finished job. Your input is invaluable to help provide exactly what you want.

The making process
We have one of the most modern and up to date furnishing factories in New Zealand, and have one of the most competent groups of artisans and machinists in the country. Whilst there are a number of products which we procure from a number of suppliers, we manufacture all our drapes and specialty items (tiebacks, swags, tails, etc) at our very modern premises in Vanguard Street Nelson. Many of our staff have spent over twenty years in the furnishings trade and their expertise, together with their passion for quality products ensures that the finished product is second to none.

The hardware

By Hardware we mean tracks and rods which we source from a number of suppliers. There is a huge range available, from simple net tracks to a great selection of tracks and rods including wooden rods as well as a range of finials and holdbacks. Another option is Motorized Curtain Track systems operated by remote control. Martec, one of our suppliers, provides a 20 year guarantee on their products. Other suppliers whose products we provide include Rufflette, Colourtrak, Vanda, Windoware, Sylon, Woodcraft and Ironbridge custom made steel rods.

Drapery

We have over 14,500 fabric samples available through our vans and our showroom but if you do see one you particularly like elsewhere, we are more than happy to source it for you. We are proud of the extra service we offer at Russells and it doesn’t cost extra.

Window treatments

We supply Roman Blinds, Austrian Blinds, Wooden Blinds, Bamboo Wooden Blinds, Panel Glides, Duettes, Roller Blinds, Venetians, Vertical Blinds, Sunscreens, Woodweave Blinds, Shutters, Window Film, Coastal Wovens, Nets, Voiles, Awnings, Silhouettes, Tie Backs, Valances, Pelmets, Swags and Tails. Russell’s excels in this area and offers a large variety to choose from, with new designs added to our range continually. We also make custom made bedspreads, cushions and table covers, etc.
