Russells began as George P Russell's furniture business in 1929 and grew into New Zealand's curtain and blind specialists. We're still family-run, now by Bill and Jenny Liddell, with our workshop based in sunny Nelson.

We custom-make all our curtains and most of our blinds right here in Nelson, using leading technology for accuracy and skilled hands for the finish. Every fabric is checked before it's cut, while it's made, and once it's done.

Laverde: our own exclusive fabric collection

Laverde is our own fabric collection, launched in 2021 and available only at Russells. Curated from leading mills around the world, it spans four ranges, Eco, Essentials, Exclusive and Premium, so there's an option for every home and budget. Every fabric suits both curtains and Roman blinds, many are fire-retardant with excellent colour fastness, and the collection carries eco-friendly certifications. We keep it in stock at our Nelson factory, so it's quicker to make up and priced more competitively than fully custom fabrics.
