Can you get shutters for arched or shaped windows?
Yes. Shutters can be custom-made for arched, angled, triangular, round and other shaped windows. The shutter is cut to follow the shape of the window. Depending on the geometry, some shaped sections are fixed while the rest opens and closes. Your consultant will confirm what is possible for your window.
What are full-height shutters?
A full-height shutter covers the window in a single sweep from top to bottom. Taller windows usually include a mid-rail, a horizontal bar across the middle, which adds support and lets you tilt the top and bottom sets of louvres independently for light and privacy.
Can you get shutters for very tall windows?
Yes. Tall windows are well suited to full-height shutters with one or more mid-rails. The mid-rail adds structural support across the height and gives you separate control of the upper and lower louvres. Your consultant will measure and advise on the right configuration.
Can you get shutters for triangular or angled windows?
Yes. Triangular, raked and angled-top windows, such as those following a gable or sloping ceiling, can be made as custom shaped shutters cut to the exact angle. Shutters are one of the few coverings that can be tailored to these shapes.
What windows can shutters cover that curtains and blinds can't?
Shutters can be fitted to many windows that standard curtains and blinds cannot, including arched, triangular, angled, round and very tall or narrow windows. Because each shutter is custom-made to the shape, it can follow geometry that fabric coverings cannot. Your consultant will assess your window and advise honestly.
Do shaped shutters still open and close?
It depends on the shape. Rectangular and full-height sections open and close and have adjustable louvres as normal. Some shaped sections, such as the curved top of an arch or the point of a triangle, may be fixed in place for a clean look and light control. Your consultant will explain what will and will not operate on your specific window.
